Forest & Fuels Management
Timber Harvest Preparation, Marketing & Administration
Resource professionals provide expert forest and fuel management services, including timber harvesting document preparation, timber sale preparation, marketing, and logging administration. Registered Professional Foresters and Wildlife Biologists work with clients to achieve the goals of their property while working with state and federal agencies to stay environmentally compliant. A variety of timber harvesting documents can be written and implemented to meet the landowners’ objectives.
W.M. Beaty & Associates markets the timber usually requiring bid solicitation, negotiations, and contracts. Sale administration on behalf of the landowner is critical to ensure proper implementation and a successful outcome. Finally, harvested timber is subject to a yield tax administered through the State Board of Equalization.

Forest Fuels Treatment
Overstocked forests are at risk to catastrophic wildfires that adversely affect forests, wildlife, and watershed resources. Our foresters provide various vegetation and fuel management solutions through mechanical and chemical treatments. Timber harvesting, biomass thinning/removal and mastication are effective ways to reduce forest fuels. Chemical treatments are used in key areas to keep the vegetation from returning to the site. Removal of the fuel can also improve forest health and promote tree growth. There are a wide range of Cal Fire Exemption Notices that allow the planning to be done cost efficiently along with the potential for grant funding.
Grant Applications & Administration
W. M. Beaty & Associates offers grant applications and administration for landowners as part of our forest and fuels management services. We have a proven track record of securing grants and implementing projects that meet landowner objectives while benefiting the health of the forest ecosystem. We have secured funding from numerous programs, including the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), the Wildlife Conservation Board, the US Forest Service, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). These grants have been used to implement forest fuel reduction, habitat enhancement, and water quality improvement projects. Our experienced staff works closely with landowners to develop project proposals, navigate grant application processes, and manage grant administration once awarded.
